Lynne Perrella ‘Mixed Media Collage’ Interpretation

So today I was stood over the kitchen table with wax and ink and all sorts attempting to do this interpretation of artist Lynne Perrella’s ‘Mixed Media Collage’. I have put together a small group of photos showing you how I did it!

The first stage involved photo copying images of the portrait, then transferring them onto tags using cotton pads and a spoon.

I then lightly washed the tags with inks using a pipette and brush.

I then heated a small amount of wax in this tool, and quickly drew wax onto the tags.

I added a second, darker layer of inks over the wax.

I ironed the tags between two sheets of newspaper to remove the wax.
